Im looking to buy a SFH in seattle east side. I see the areas hosuing is very costly but seeing lots of home in bothell coming cheap. Is it because of the school district ? How is the bothel area and the school district ?
I hear the bothell - redmond commute is awful
All commuters from bothell and Mill Creek with all kids go to kumon and math classes at early age and they drop them and drive so traffic makes sense.
What is your budget?
It depends on where your and spouseās work is. We bought a house in bothell 3 years ago because it was relatively cheaper than rest of Seattle at that time. Then my work moved to industrial district and wifeās moved to Bellevue. Bothell was too much of a commit and neither close to any of our offices. So we sold and bought one in downtown Bellevue.
Did you still make profit from investing?
Bothell is nice and school district is good. A better alternative for Microsoft is Woodinville. Nice area and shorter commute
How s woodnville school district
Buy in Kirkland 98033, e.g. Rose Hill (some good options under 1M still appear there). Itās between G, Oculus, MS and future FB Eastside campus. G is expanding like crazy there next year. 10 mins to Bellevue downtown, up to 30 mins to Seattle SLU. Costco, WholeFoods, TraderJoes, etc. everything is within cycling distance. Donāt go anywhere north of Totem lake, your commute will suck big time.
Good options under 1m, how old they are?
Hereās a good example https://www.redfin.com/WA/Kirkland/12716-NE-94th-Ct-98033/home/511402
