To those who live /work in Seattle / Bellevue: What are some of the DOs and DON'Ts that you wish you knew before or you want to advise those who are coming to start a life in the Seattle area? Please and thank you. As for me: I'm moving from Toronto to Bellevue WA.
If you’ve never lived in a city bigger than 1 million you’ll enjoy Seattle
That's exactly how I feel. Seattle is great ... if you've never lived in a large metropolitan city, otherwise it's "ok"
don't use umbrellas
1. Look for activity outside of downtown
I liked Seattle better than Toronto.Go with an open mind-it’s a beautiful city with easy access to mountains and nature.
I don't live there anymore, but here's my advice. Don't live in Bellevue, at least not at first. Try and live in Seattle proper, it's a lot more fun. If you're at MSFT it's pretty easy with the connectors.
Great advice but what are the connectors? Whereabouts in Seattle proper do you recommend?
MSFT runs it's own bus service, the connector. You can reserve a seat and there's wifi. It's been a few years since I've lived there, but capitol hill is probably still cool. Fremont, Ballard are solid. If you are getting relocation, you might have some time to check out the neighborhoods to see what feels good.
Dont buy a car if you're not bring a family, transports good enough.
1. Don’t come to Seattle
