Second onsite interview in 5 months Google gosth me!!

I went to the second onsite interview (the first one was back in late June with 5 interviews back to back plus a presentation for 30 minutes + QA ). In the first interview results was good but the position was given to an internal employee, the recruiter told me that he will continue looking for a position that's fit me. After a while he contacted me and say that we can revisit my candidacy on January (also he will be out for a long time). Fast-forward to 1 month ago I got a email from my first recruiter (First contact was in May) and ask me if I was interested in a new position (same title) and I says yes. We start the process and 5 days ago I have done the second onsite interview ( 3 technicals interviews + a presentation for 30 minutes + QA) I sent thanks emails to everyone ( the interviews (thru the recruiter, the recruiter team, etc.) At this point I haven't received email, call or whatsoever from no body at Google. I already have my job so I'm not in a rush. My question is: is my case weird and out of time in all aspects? Or this happens regularly? I should wait for a rejection and keep my spectation low or is possible that i can receive an offer? I feel I neiled in both occasions. Please ask any questions All interviews had system design and coding questions Location: CA Position: DevRel

I was supposed to have team match calls and HC two weeks ago. Haven’t received any call/ email other than the one where the recruiter said the feedback was positive enough to go through with team match then HC. Haven’t really followed up either though, due to other interviews and work but things just seem to be moving really slowly right now with Google. I wouldn’t say you got ghosted.

You should follow up. But at least you have a good answer. I don't have anything after the interview. I'm waiting on Monday to send another email. Good luck!

Google only moves fast if you have a competing offer.

Apparently not true in some cases either. I mentioned elsewhere that I was hoping to get an Amazon offer to speed it up, but didn’t end up getting the offer. Then someone from Amazon mentioned his Amazon offer didn’t speed up the process at all, even though his recruiter mentioned he hit the urgent flag.

I said Google only moves fast when there is a competing offer. I didn’t say that a competing offer will always make Google move fast. That’s Logic 101 stuff.

The hiring process slows down pretty significantly during the holidays, so I wouldn’t worry too much.
