People buy them because they are good, you can't even understand that? 😂😂😂

The issue is they’re too good - imagine if every other vehicle on the road is a Tesla in 10 years, just like how everyone has an iPhone. That’s the direction we’re headed, and that’s why I can’t support Tesla as a company. Support some of the other underdog EVs instead.

In terms of market share, tesla and electric cars in general are still underdogs

Too much for a sedan. You can afford a decent SUV for < 40k

+1 any sedan is trash compared to an SUV. More room never made things worse.

Except if you're driving a McLaren. Those are just nice cars.

You should only buy it if you can afford a few though...

Lol you're entitled to your opinion. I'm entitled to mine and I've shared it.

It's not until recently that the highest trims on non luxury brands included the perks of luxury brands. Perks are well worth the price, and it's not like I can't afford to buy one. If you have other priorities those are your own. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Most things you can spend money on are dumb. Some of us don’t buy expensive cars as a status symbol but because we spend a non trivial amount of time in them so a nice one vs a crappy econobox makes a meaningful difference to the quality of that experience. Yes, it’s meaningless but in a hundred years every single person on here will be dead and everything you cared about or did will have been futile. At least in the interim, you can spend a little of that time in a nice car.

Status symbol? Maybe 60 years ago. Now banks let you buy something 8 times your salary.

You want to impress someone, own the bank that’s lending the idiots money for their status symbols.

Frankly, I would go with Mercedes. It's a car that when you spent 50k on it it feels like a 50k car and stays that way for a while unlike a Tesla. Has a classy look which doesn't hurt.

Yup have two of 'em GLK350 and a C coupe. Buy a two year old CPO with low miles and you'll save a bundle and get an extended warranty. Warranties are truly bumper to bumper and they only need service annually or every 10K. C Coupe CPO I bought with 21K miles at half sticker price, had all teh options I wanted and had a service plan thrown in, Only out of pocket since I bought the car four years ago was tires & an alignment. Have gotten many compliments on the car and it eats up my mountain commute roads. Also have a GLK350 4Matic (AWD) bought 3 years old with 39K miles from Hertz.. Rides great, very dependable. had some transmission warranty work done just after purchase but at 110K miles, only have replaced tires, thermostat, battery on top of the annual maintenance. Key to these cars is getting the maintenance done on schedule.

Tons of choices! Mercedes E-class, Audi A6/A7, BMW 5-series, Lexus GS450, Infiniti G70, Acura RLX, Volvo S90, Genesis G80/G90, Alfa Romeo Quadrifolio, Jaguar XF/XJ, Tesla Model 3/S, Cadillac CT5/6, Lincoln Continental. If you can stretch your budget upward a bit, you can look at Porsche Panamera and Maserati Ghibli.
These are all interesting choices. Try them all and make your choice.

We are lucky we live in the US. There is no better place to buy a car with the most strict safety regulation and possibly the lowest price.

Too many ppl on blind just jerk off to any Tesla that passes them on the freeway.

What are your requirements? Tons of choices at that range from awd luxury sedans like a mildly used A8 or a brand new Porsche macan S

  • BMW 330i or M340i, both Xdrive. 330i will be a bit better on gas and will be zippy but not outright fast. M340i will pull you to 60mph as quickly as a Porsche 911 Carrera did 10 years ago, but will have the comfort/space/amenities of a modern luxury car.

2019 Honda Pilot Elite ~$45k. Pretty cush with lots of bells and whistles incl AWD. Seats 6 adults very comfortably. Anything comparable from other typical flagship manu's cost considerably more for same options. We love ours.
