Seeking for a referral

Hello fellow engineers,
I’m actively seeking for an opportunity for software engineer position. I have 5 yrs experience with a master. I’ve been preparing it for the last 6 months and did mock interviews. Somehow I see it’s difficult to pass the hr screen these days. (Edited: the hr screen means the I didn’t get hr contact after applying target companies online )
Could anyone give a referral? I’d really appreciate it!

Most of the Cisco ppl I have interviewed were not good at all.. they are good in Cisco technology and have Cisco specific knowledge.. However, they don't perform well when I try to take them out of their Cisco world.. that's the reason, I avoid spending time behind Cisco/HPE/Juniper candidates if I have others lined up... I would advise you to move out of Cisco as soon as possible.. join a startup to gain none Cisco specific knowledge sooner.. then try for the companies you have tagged in your original post..

Been working on transferable skills. I’m wondering what other interview knowledge I need to know other than system design/algorithm. Thanks!

Above ^^ is true. As a hiring manager I tend to overlook Cisco candidates if they had stayed there for more than 12 months.

That's weird. Hr talks for me have been very shallow. Some paraphrasing of my resume. Then the tech part is almost 100% leetcode and some system design you can read on. If you did 300-400 multiple times you should be wrecking interviews with multiple offers. I feel something is hidden

Initial HR contact shouldn't have much technical detail to it. Mostly resume dive ins and sometimes technical MCQs. It's still not clear which part you don't succeed at. If you don't want to share more details, the general advice would be to switch out from Cisco to a non top-tier until you have enough experience (>=2yrs)

The OP is saying that they apply directly online and the company/recruiter/hr contact doesn’t get back to him. Never actually gets on the phone with them.

What's your experience in? Not sure why you don't pass the HR screen. Shed some light there if you need proper advice

I think my post may have confused you for the hr screen means. I meant the initial hr contact (didn’t reach out to me)
