Seems like Disney laid off more people...

Are you Disney and Fox folks okay? Doesn't seem like it's too many people... https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/disney-layoffs-hit-nearly-60-in-media-distribution-division-1203318688/

There will be lots of jobs lost if the markets continue to go down. But on the bright side, there will be lots of hires when the markets go up again. Also, it’s pretty common for jobs to be lost when there’s a big acquisition

Every week. Layoffs. It’s so uncertain. If you can’t find something to do Future is uncertain for you role. Lots of chaos.

But also an opportunity to get rid of the glut of executives adding no value.

Disney solidsurge Sep 3, 2019

So to my knowledge, a few folks on the ESPN DTCI Product team were laid off, in addition to the ENTIRE ABC News dev team based on NYC (about 20-25 folks), as well as National Geographic and Fox folks.

Hopefully they will lay-off the old fossilized Fox execs who greenlit the past couple X-Men movie and that Fantastic Four reboot. The Mouse will fix all of these things ^

Fox News HannityS Sep 3, 2019

The mouse will die, buried, after digging up it's own grave!! I'd give Disney+ at most 2 years. Nobody wants to watch Marvel + Star Wars + all the fables + whatever other popular culture based spin offs as shows and seasons on a daily basis. Loki had a great run for about 5 years because he only appeared every once in a while. NFLX on the other hand has touched base with every theme and every topic under the sun. Hard to beat NFLX, specially if they manage to tie-up with say, Sony or somebody equally big like Columbia, Tristar, Buena Vista etc.

You jelly? That Disney didn’t want to FoxNews?

Netflix hfirnrj Sep 3, 2019

Hope they let go people who ruined Star Wars!!!

Fox Broadcasting totalrando Sep 3, 2019

Folks who are getting let go have generous severance.

Hulu gJAf05 Sep 14, 2019

Can you quantify “generous” in regards to the severance? I heard someone with 17 years only received about 1 year but that could be off-base....

I don't think Disney is going to sell Buena Vista anytime soon.
