Selling stock

Has anyone tried transferring their stock to Robinhood? It says there's no transfer fee and they cover the transfer fee out for the first one. I'm a little suspicious. I have stock vesting in E-Trade and wondering if I should try it instead of selling on E-Trade

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Why do you want to move your shares to a different broker?

    • Plain ridiculous. No fees on Robinhood!

      Is says here that it’s $7. https://us.etrade.com/what-we-offer/pricing-and-rates

Maybe they changed the fees since you last used them. Also, are you sure that the $20 were fees and not just the market difference between the buying and selling prices?

I don't know about now but they had separate fees for RSU and ESPP stocks, and it was $20 iirc.

That article mentions it was for international customers, maybe that's why?

  • I did it. It’s awesome!

That promotion is only to widen RH’s portfolio, it seems. Giving us the benefit! I bulk transferred my old company stock (for free) and have sold more than 50% of that stock without any fees!

I am currently moving my brokerage acct from Schwab to Robinhood. I did the math. Paid about two fiddy in fees last month at schwab. I pay zero at Hood. I also have espp at Schwab. Letting it stay there.

Are you trading actively? How did you accrue such high fees?
