Sen. Warren supporters

Sincerely interested in your reasons for supporting her candidacy. 4000 people showed up to see her speak at a 2000 person venue in the Bay Area, but I haven’t heard too much vocal advocacy for her by my coworkers yet.

How set are you on voting for Warren in the primaries?

Why do you think she’d be the best candidate to win the party nomination?

Who would be your second choice? And... If she dropped out and the only two remaining options were Biden and Sanders, who would you back and why?

(Independents or Republicans need not respond unless they are planning to vote for her in the general election. Rather than derail this discussion, feel free to start a different topic - or two or three - about why you think Warren sucks. I don’t support Democrats or Republicans, but I’m not interested in judging any supporters in this thread. I’m only interested in hearing from potential supporters and their reasons.)

Yes, I’m aware that Trump supporters are not interested in voting for her. But thanks for the insight anyways.

That’s a meme/unofficial slogan among Warren supporters, but it gets at the key reason why I like her: she has solid, detailed, progressive proposals on a wide range of issues.

My main worry with Warren is that this is essentially the same reason I liked Hillary Clinton and we all know how that turned out.

To answer your specific questions, I’d vote for her if the primary was today but I won’t be too sad if she doesn’t make it to my state’s primary. I’m not entirely sure who I’d vote for after her, maybe Bernie or Mayor Pete or even Andrew Yang.

Between Sanders and Biden I’d probably choose Sanders if only because his politics are more progressive. I think Biden would be an effective President too, just more of a status quo Democrat than I want.

Thank you. That was very helpful. Yeah, I’m interested in getting a sense of the depth of support. I think the last pres election (prob also Obama in 08) showed that enthusiastic support and drawing large crowds is a good indication of where winds are blowing.

You don’t have to support Trump to think she took advantage of Native peoples. What she did is disgraceful. When she released that video & DNA results that made a lot of people seriously question her judgement. Doubtful she could possible win. The crowds in the Bay Area have nothing to do with success in the primary.

Cool, I don’t really care - like I said I don’t support either party so I wouldn’t vote in the DNC primary anyway.

But regarding crowds, I disagree with your view. I think that Obama, Trump and Sanders (though he lost, nobody would have expected him to get that far) show that elections are won on the basis of mobilization now. Bill Clinton and Bush won by convincing enough conservative swing-voters to vote for their party that time... Hilary Clinton, Biden etc all still make this assumption imo (and it’s a loosing one.)

Yeah, can’t picture Warren getting more African American voters to the poll than Hillary did.

So according to Egencia guy, someone who taught at Harvard is an idiot, but a puśśy grabbing tv host who lost a billion dollars in the casino business is smart. Got it.

^^ Harvard is where Pocahontas was "made". That's little potatoes for a running liberal, but most normal people cringe on it and have learnt to see through the media veils.

I like her a lot. She seems smart and well spoken and enthusiastic. And she seems like she cares a lot about using the presidency to try to help make America a better place to live. You can check out her website for more specific policy things.

I haven’t decided who I will vote for in the primaries. But she’s definitely a possibility.

Thank you. Sure I can look up her positions and record, but I’m really just interested in getting a glimpse at how much passion there is to her support.

I was a little surprised by the turn out for her in the Bay Area and imo at this stage, the level of enthusiasm is probably a better indication of who the actual front runners will be than early polling (which always by default favors name recognition early on.)

She thrown so much shit out there policy wise this point that everybody likes at least one thing. But anyone who is halfway Intelligent is also doubting that she stands for anything and noticing she has a track record of accomplishing nothing

I like the new economic nationalism plan she announced. I’m not sure I believe that she could implement it even if President. Put another way I think she’s all over the place so lacks credibility on any given issue
