I recently discovered I’m being under paid and am looking for a new role. I have 7 years of experience as a PM (10 more in UX) and don’t have a technical background. I have learned through doing and have had a successful career so far. I dread being asked about salary when they won’t state a range first. What’s your compensation as a product manager, base vs total comp, years of experience, and are you male or female? Or what do you think a base range would be for a senior pm or director?
Try to think of one type of competition where females dominate males, I'll wait
At Google you would probably be an L5 which means a base of 150-180 and TC of 200-260
Senior PM in Los Angeles with 8 years experience. $130k base + annual bonus. Also, I recommend checking out Comparably, Paysa, GlassDoor, and Salary.com for numbers in your area or at your company.
200k base

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
In California they're obligated to give you a range and are not allowed to ask what you make now
