Salesforce acEW83
Mar 13

I completed onsite at Square for a Senior Software Engineer role and think it went well.
What would be the compensation range for senior engg position?. I have 8 yoe

Additionally, any info on how good or bad the yearly refershers are would be helpful.

Thank you. So is that when you have competing offers?

I'm not saying that's wrong, maybe you know someone who got that offer, but it's certainly not the default. Maybe you could negotiate up to that but I strongly doubt it.

@EHbt10 350k does seem high based on numbers I see online but I could be wrong. Would you have any information on what I could expect

It would be 350 if you joined 14 months ago when the stock was $35.

@BDFr06 but I am curious as to why stock price should matter if RSUs are given based on total $ amount

He means based on stock appreciation. You won't get 350k offer.

8 yoe is most likely going to be L5, which will be around 240-280k based on how well you interviewed. Unlikely you'll be upleveled to a L6

Going to interview at Square, could you please tell me how the interviews were ? Is it LC medium ? I can’t find much info anywhere. Thanks

Almost all of our questions are custom made. They are questions that we ask you to build something for us instead of reversing a linked list. There's some algorithms under the hood, but they're masked and hidden inside a problem.

Thanks is there a place I can find some sample questions?

Not particularly unless any are leaked, and even then it's not that helpful unless you get the same exact interviewer using the same question. They really can be anything because it's up to the interviewer to make their own. Expect each question to have multiple parts to it.

Got it, the reason I ask is to understand how I start my preparation. Thanks

I'd say just continue doing leetcode. It'll get you in the habit of still writing code and double as practice for other companies.

All of my questions were custom questions . It wasn't too difficult but getting them done in time was imp. If you have done few leetcode qsns you should be able to spot a trend
