Senior software engineer offer Adobe

Salesforce Trie.Hard

Got an offer for Adobe/Marketo in SF Bay Area, seems like they can get me senior title.

Base: $140
RSU: $100k (total, vesting over 4 years)
Bonus: 7%

TC $174,800k not including ESPP, 401k match. Definitely a downgrade from sfdc.

This seems much lower than what I’ve seen on levels.fyi, where I’ve seen as high as $270k-$330k for senior.

How much room to go up to I have here? Recruiter said my interview performance was strong.

Every tdh wants to be a senior these days. And over evaluates his/her potential. Thats where actual yoe comes for the rescue

Not enough man. I have 16 yrs . Make as much as you. And still a senior

That's enough experience to be a senior, if you have the skills for it. Otherwise the title is used for wage suppression, IMO.

Salesforce does inflate their titles though.

I think Adobe doesn't pay that much. 270-330k range you saw is probably due to stock performance

Ask for level. Regardless, this is low even for level 3

Probably just ask for more. But the best way is having another offer or show them your paystub.
Less than 30% increase doesn’t worth moving company.

Yeah pretty low. Ask at least 30% more. Also why are you leaving sfdc for adobe?

This is a low offer even by Adobe standards. this is more inline with a new grad offer. What's your YOE ? Senior engineer offers are 300k+ in the main orgs - not sure about recent acquisitions.

What level do you mean when you say senior? To me senior is level 4.

Senior is level 5 (Sr CS) and above, as assumed in my reply.

Pretty low man. Usually senior is higher than 200k. If level 5 senior then higher than 250k

It’s lot inflated shit in blind .This is very good offer for your experience. If you are joining some AI team with previous AI experience it is low but good offer.

That seems extremely low. My offer in another state was $140 with $80K RSU and %15 bonus.

I'd negotiate with them. I assume this is in CA.

Out of curiosity, why leave Salesforce?

That is about the same as my offer last year with same YOE. Even with much stronger FB offer, they wouldn't budge.

Way too low! I came in as level 4 and got around $215k total comp a couple of years back. That seems like it’s a level 3 offer.

Depends on the team you’re joining, it varies from apps to platform.

  • Levels is inflated - not as absurd as many Blind posts, but it's higher than average. Plus, keep in mind it's harder to gauge with companies that don't have many data points (e.g. Adobe).
