Shady Uber tactics

Uber Platinum Customer here. I placed an order with Uber eats, the delivery partner never came to my door or even attempted to contact me about any possible issue, despite the instructions left in the order. I was told by Uber “priority support” that this was too bad and there were “no refunds”. After wasting about 20min of my time, I was told I would get a refund. Great, but then I also had no dinner. And the restaurant had now closed. The refund never showed up. So I sent a support request asking about the refund. Apparently Uber thinks it is okay to promise a refund, and since I spend so much with Uber, hope that I don’t notice the transaction wasn’t refunded on my statement.

Uber thinking it can scam me out of my refund

Had a similar thing happen to me. Ordered a pizza and a wrong, cheaper one showed up. They refused to refund and offered $5 Uber bucks and asked me to sort it out with the restaurant.

Pretty much the same thing happened with me and Amazon restaurants. Had to call them and later about refund.

I’m pretty sure Uber isn’t that concerned about scamming you out of 30 dollars worth of food dude.

If they do that systematically they would stand to gain a substantial amount of money.

All the food delivery companies do this crap

Give them a break, they don't make any money. Cannot expect great service from a charity.

They make a marginal profit

Facebook public2 May 31, 2019

No they don't. Their core business is margin negative (according to Wednesday's earnings).

This P2P “don’t shoot the messenger” model is fucking stupid because you have no real recourse.

Use Grubhub. I was a big fan of Eat24 and GrubHub is maintaining the same quality/support after they acquired Eat24
