Have you ever sold pre-IPO shares of your company through any of those services? How has the experience been for you? I exercised ISO options of my current startup, and I am planning to leave the company and completely cut ties with them, getting rid of the shares if possible. I carefully read my option agreement and it states that the company has the right of first refusal, meaning that they can't prevent me from selling shares to a third party as long as I give them (the company) the chance to actually buy back the shares at the same price I'd like to sell via a written notice, and they can take 60 days to think about it. The paper value of my shares based on the last valuation would be ~$2M, and I see on those platforms that usually common shares trade at a ~80% discount from the last preferred valuation, which is not too bad for me. The company is known and currently valued at $800M with a solid customer base, so I think there could be potential buyers for my shares. Thanks
Both platforms are good. SharesPost is known for volume trade for buyers. .
