Yikes! Seeing that story about the 54 year old about to run out of her WC is sad.

The existence of Amazon is a symptom of human nature, people don’t care so as long as it’s not them or their friends who are harmed. The more out of sight, the more out of mind.

Aws Quotas are fricking insane too.

Booking.com ghbki Nov 26, 2019

How's this related to AWS?

Amazon SmkWdEvyDy Nov 26, 2019

I believe the suggestion is being associated with Amazon may be reputationally damaging for AWS because of the scandals.

Facebook ris Nov 26, 2019

In the white collar world, the workload at AWS is reputationally damaging for Amazon 🤪

Microsoft __Ranveer Nov 26, 2019

this is brutal.

Amazon billymays Nov 26, 2019

The way that Amazon is built...I don't know if they (or I guess, we) could sustain the buisness model by changing FC culture. I think the hope is probably automation for most of the hard labor positions.

Bose haITried Nov 26, 2019

Amazon afty Nov 26, 2019

Google topCon Nov 26, 2019

Amazon Meowser Nov 26, 2019

Maybe people are gonna flame me for this but when I worked at a zoo I had similar issues. The animals needed to get fed timely and I had to lift stuff for half of the day and then interact with customers on my feet the other half. It's not like my employers were abusing me. If I didnt do the work I'd be fired. Being physically capable of jobs is necessary and if your body just cant handle it then you shouldn't do it. I eventually quit cause my feet killed me from not sitting down over the course of 10 hours but it's still a job someone had to do. I'm not saying a FC is perfect cause I have no idea what goes on inside them but how much is actually blown out of proportion vs how much is actually an issue is a question that needs to be addressed

Slalom Consulting StankyFeet Nov 26, 2019

The only solution is 100% automation of fulfillment centers. Then people will complain about how Amazon doesn’t employ enough people.

Amazon afty Nov 26, 2019

Exactly. These same people well complain when robots do all the work that could possibly result in injury. They will moan about the good old days of $15/hr warehouse jobs.
