Should I call them?

I applied at Walmart Labs for a Director position. I had a great phone interview with a director and it ended with them saying “I definitely want to talk to you again.” A week later, the recruiter calls and says they’re moving on with a different candidate. That seemed odd. Now, two months later, the position is still open. Do I reach out to them?

Why? Obviously they don’t want you.

Don't think so...even if you were a second choice for them, they would have called themselves....

Very common. They aren’t interested.

Sometimes the interviewers are so nice that they give so much hope and end in a extremely positive note during in person or during a phone call, that might have happened in your case but don’t worry there are plenty of other opportunities, keep trying and don’t give up.

Quite common with Walmart labs, they don't update candidates when it comes to resume not shortlisted / rejected in an onsite loop.

Quite common everywhere, not the update part though

It’s like a breakup. Girl says “hey look, I had a fun time tonight. Don’t call me, I’ll call you” and then never does.
