I hate my team at Amazon. Have hated it for a year now. Everyday, I have to muster up all the energy i have to go to work. In march, I got tired of it and started interviewing. Got an offer from Uber in April and accepted. My next stock grant was going to be in September, so I didn't care. Unfortunately, H1B RFE fucked my plans. Now, after a grueling 4 months, my H1B has been approved. (Yay!) I still hate my job. Would love to join Uber literally yesterday. But, now I have a dilemma. I'm kind of close to my stock grant which vests in mid September. It's 25 RSUs i.e ~48k. Should I grind another 1.5 month of torture out for this grant? Or should I just join Uber? I feel like it's a matter of being happy vs getting more money. What would you do?

Is it cheaper to eat chipotle everyday than buy groceries ?
Grind it out. 6 weeks, 48k. Heck, call in sick for a week
What team/org?
If Uber can match, then ask and switch. Else ask Uber to wait. Get the money, you've worked for it!
Just sit and stare for 6 weeks. It will be much less stressful since you know you are leaving soon.
The mental health week will help make it easier.
48k in 1.5 months is worth bearing any kind of pain, both literally and figuratively
Stick it out! Do you have vacation and sick days?
Tell Uber that you will join after 1.5 months. Just go in, take it easy. Work 2/3 hours a day. Take 3 weeks off and go for a trip. They won’t fire you in 3 weeks. It takes that much time for a company to decide whether to fire or not to fire. Also, it’s all about finding peace. I hope you get a great team at Uber, and wish you all the best.
Join uber. I heard there are layoffs going on and data science hiring is on hold. Join before you lose the opportunity
Hang in there! 48K is a big number. I would suggest take 1 week vacation. Come back and then again take sick leave. You will end up working for like 1 month. Also, don’t give notice till you get your grant. The day you will get grant, send email or discuss with your manager and exit within couple of days. Cheers!
But won't the manager be angry that he is leaving immediately after getting the grant
Angry? And then what?
Sounds like money isn’t the biggest issue with you so go fly my friend
