Hey Blinders, Received an offer for a TPM Product role at FB after a recruiter reached out and I went through the interview process. L4 w/TC: $210k. I'm currently at TC $140k, but a move to the Bay Area reduces the jump somewhat. I'm excited about the offer, but also a bit hesitant as I"m really not familiar with the culture at FB and wondering if i'll fit in. Some questions that come to mind: 1. Is FB really doing exciting work? Obviously that varies with teams, but seems that maybe they have hit their peak and most of the work is on refinement around things like privacy/security? I'm sure the office is a fun place, but is the work boring? Especially at the size of FB today? 2. What is the culture really like at FB? I've seen several posts of people saying they didn't "fit in" and curious what elements contribute to that. Is it just around autonomy, bottoms up approach, or is it more the kool-aid and politics? I don't mind a loose structure, but I don't have much patience for egos and slogans. Seems like a social media company would bring a lot of drama and social pressure. But maybe FB has moved past this stage. 3. With some of the recent news in the past year, seems that morale is a bit low. Are things beginning to look up? 4. A lot of posts here comment on the high intensity and bad WLB. Is this improving? How is the WLB and pressure for TPMs? I don't mind working hard, but I cap myself at ~45 hrs/wk. Is that an unreasonable expectation? Appreciate any advice!
It has been and continues to be one of the best jobs I have ever had. DM me and we can chat.
How many YOE ? Offer seems low
YOE: 7 as TPM
Bro why so low?? TPM also should make more but slightly less than SWE... 7 YOE is E4.. and TC should be around 300 K . Try getting competing offers

Lol, troll post? or were you being serious?
Serious, I’m leaving soon.
The sample size is canceling out each other. Lol. Generally people on blind are unhappy. Not many happy employees need the cover of anonymity to express the nature of their opinions. The others not present here may have already drank the Kool aid. I am usually entirely wrong.
TPM are not in E ranges lol. You woulda got L4
Yes, you are correct, my bad.
210k for L4 is crazy low. You'll regret it now if you don't get at least 240k
140k in stock over 4 yrs did seem a bit low, but that doesn't include the yearly refreshers.
It is one of the worst jobs I ever had mainly due to its PSC that put it's employees on unnecessary stress and extremely short sighted. This is all documented.
It really honestly depends on your manager. As far as culture, FB is more about moving fast, and less about being a perfectionist. That was hard for me to adjust to at first, but I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing. The facilities are top notch and they honestly do not cheap out on anything. Ive worked at multiple FAANGs and FB has the best food/facilities/benefits. I was also hesitant before I joined, thinking the work would be boring, but it honestly was more challenging and exciting than my previous jobs. From what I know, fb is planning on making significant changes to the platform.
Love it when people are actually balanced on Blind!
Thanks, that was a very helpful response! Curious why you left for G? TC?
Also, once you work at FB for a year, all the other FAANGs will line up to hire you and pay you more (my experience at least).
What about if you work at 🍎? still same scenario? Meaning other faangs paying u more ?
Not sure about apple. My feeling is they would likely be on the low end of comp for FANGs, depending on your area of course.
