Should I take a E5 position Facebook?

I have an offer from FB for E5 SWE at MPK. I get paid well at my current position (at a big but very low ranked company) and the E5 comp is not an issue either. I see these positives and negatives for accepting the position. +ves One of the more desired companies and brand, learning and growth opportunities, working among proportionally more smart people. Looks good from a long term perspective. -ves Constant pressure to perform/show impact (my current position is more laid back but interesting work nevertheless) based on my conversations with teams. Likely narrowed scope of work due to a specialized role. My current role is broader and I have some accumulated reputation, that I have be throw away by moving. My perception might be wrong about some of these things. Any advice is appreciated.

Good time to join: the stock can go 20% up.

Thanks for the reply. Honestly, I think it would be a wash over 4 years, as we will likely head into a recession during that period, which will pull down all growth stocks, unless it goes up something like 80-100% in the interim. I accounted for that in evaluating the comp.

One thing to consider even with the bear model is that you can sell as RSUs vest quarterly.

Thank you. Definitely softens the blow in a bad market. I feel on balance it will be +ve over 4 years.

As a former fb employee I’d say take it. After coming to snapchat I realized how much more competitive (in a nice way) fb was and it felt like a world class team vs snap which is a bunch of low quality dumb mofos in comparison ...n yes, I’m looking to go back lol

Thanks for your perspective. Snap rates better than FB based on Paysa talent attraction scale, though. Paysa.com/company-rank

I'm curious what you mean by competitive in a nice way, do you mean not cutthroat?
