I’ve been trying to motivate to study for interviews for a couple months and have found it hard to do. Last week I started technical phone screens and failed LinkedIn, Airbnb, and possibly Facebook, and didn’t do my take-homes from Slack and Github. I’ve done 70 Leetcode problems, almost all easy, and I have to push myself to study on the daily because Leetcode feels like a waste of time tbh. The thing is I REALLY want a new job. Should I keep pushing through? Will a bit of time away from prepping for interviews help me get excited to interview again? Tell me about your experiences. TC $261k
With $260 TC why are you bothering with companies that can’t even match that?
Yoe?
Cool down for a month now. There is weariness & pain of rejections on one side and patience & pain of long preparation on other side. Choose your pain. I suggest be hardcore in this case. Solve 100 leetcode hards without seeing solution. Let it take its own time. When low on motivation while solving hards, do some mediums to keep yourself up and running. Prepare system design alongside. Put in 6 more months and don't hurry to interview. Use some non-FNGs for mock interviews. Then use LI, uber, As(Amzn, Apple, etc.) and unicorns for confidence boosters and competitive offers. Attempt FNGs. There will be a moment of pursuit of happiness. Above all, don't hesitate to take small breaks. Spend time with friends and family; it will help you renew your energy. Don't forget Microsoft is prestigious too and has good WLB. So spending 6 more months with Microsoft is going to add experience at a good company to your resume. All the best. Stay in touch!
Start mediums. Leetcode easy wont help u
