Should I take my 21 month old to watch Avengers?

We are finding hard to find time to watch Avengers because of job and kid’s schedule. I love the series and would like to watch the movie asap. One option is to take him to the movei but not sure how the violence and sound will affect him. Any pointers?

Unlikely a kid that age would find the movie engrossing. Most can’t sit still for 90 minutes even when watching something they like. My kids first movie in a theater was at 3 years old. A daytime show of a kid-friendly animated movie that he had already watched many times before, at home . He sat through the entire thing, riveted, and ate tons of popcorn. I don’t know what kind of movie “Avengers...” is. Don’t take a child to a movie that bores or frightens them or is inappropriate for their age. An unhappy child can ruin the experience for other moviegoers including the parent. Parents who really love to do things that aren’t kid-appropriate should find babysitters. Paid ones or family/friends who do it for free. Or arrange sleepovers for the kid.

I did similar thing. My son is usually very brave and we have watch some Marvel movie at home and he loves Iron man. But he got scared at movie theater and we end up only watched just a little bit. Mostly it is the sound being really load.

Yeah please don’t take this young kid to movie like this. He may find it very scary. Kids get scared easily by people getting hurt/dying etc..

Goto to a movie one parent at a time while other takes care of kid. If you both want to watch together, hire babysitter.

Microsoft NotDoable May 17, 2018

Exactly. This is what we do. We got used to watching movies alone and that gives true relaxation. Better than hiring baby sitter.
