Should I wait for SDE 2 promotion or shift to US now?
My current team projects are not interesting and I wish to move to Seattle eventually. Its been 14 months since I joined Amazon India. Some HMs that I contacted are suggesting to wait for promotion and then shift as lot of SDE 1 L1 visa are getting rejected. Should I wait for promotion or shift now?
You don't really 'shift' as much as you 'move'.
Get promoted and move Amazon slary for sde 1 in us is low.
You should wait and get promoted before move. Otherwise you will have to start from scratch after move.
I did the same thing dude , waited for an year in China and moved as rejections on sde1 in Microsoft for L1b were same but end of the day ur salary will be higher so everything will be compensated compared to your living expenses in Seattle with low salary in sde 1
That’s true 3 of my friends in amazon and 1 guy in Microsoft all of their L1 are rejected due to sde in title make it 2 and then make a move
