Amazon has been losing business to Microsoft for years now so I'm not surprised the Pentagon selected Azure. We use Azure at Walmart and it's good. We also use GCP but its crap as a service compared to Azure. We obviously dont touch AWS.
Arm chair opinions mean nothing when people here do not know the full range of requirements of the ‘customer’ in depth. People who do know are not going to talk about it here. So all you’ll probably get here is fanboism from either camp.
Amazon has a huge conflict of interest with AWS and retail. You think its starting to bleed over to defense contracts as well? Maybe we'll see Amazon divest either retail or AWS.
Walmart you biased. Nobody I’ve chatted with is an azure fan
When you are at lunch in the google canteen 🤣
Who cares. Both will do just fine and grow exponentially over the next few years. Amazon will win some other contract. You win some, you lose some.
They should have given the contract to Alibaba cloud - at least that way we wouldn't have to pretend the Chinese aren't hacking the crap out of the pentagon
Agree with wave - you don’t know the customer requirements.
Should have went with Amazon. Amazon already showed us they will bend over backwards to provide any service we want. We already have connections set up, FBI already uses GovCloud, etc. This is why working for the government sucks, one stupid decision made by tech illiterates after another
Best thing for govt to do is bring in a second or third cloud vendor. Competition always drives down costs for the buyer
Lol the govt always opens contracts up for bid and selects the lowest bidder. We end up always having the shittiest option because of that See healthcare.gov
