Hi, do you think that every offer should be negotiated for more? I’m asking for a friend who just got an offer for a project management position(construction). The pay is more than she’s gotten from previous employment but seems on the lower end to me personally. The offer is 60k, they have about 7-8 yeas of construction estimating experience & an engineering degree.
It depends on a number of factors. You want to feel good about taking the job and you also want your new employer to feel good about hiring you. If both of these can be satisfied, then negotiate. If only one side can be satisfied, then don't or look for another opportunity.
I didn't negotiate when the recruiter came back with a number that doubled my previous salary, I thought I won the lottery. After finding out what the comp band is for my level, I should have negotiated.
Why does everyone always say they are asking for a friend? Its not like you are asking if penis enlargement pills work or not.
Because it really is for a friend. Lol. I obviously wouldn’t be asking for me since this is a platform for people at tech companies & the person in the question is doing pm construction type work.
I agree Boeing! This is an anonymous site lol. It’s not like we know you either
I've pushed back on every offer I've gotten
