Dell has a good point, though. Lies, damn lies and statistics. Microsoft bends the truth in some interesting ways to paint a better picture than reality.
Except that a lot of stuff, like Office, is now counted in this number, plus allocations from contracts that bundle tons of MS stuff together. Take with grain of salt.
That's cool bruhs, no hate. Ya'll gots yo cloud, we gots our cloud. Ya'll bruthas wreckonizing some SaaS revenue up in this biyotch. As long as you snizzatches be following them GAAP rules, and ya'll ain't channel stuffin' and you don't be manipulatin' them topline numbaz, I am down with that.
Steve Balmer was an Idiot when it came to being a visionary CEO but one thing he never did was fake revenue reporting. Nadella is totally different creature. He is all about optics. Scum bag!
Yes but this is similar to IBM marking small IBM Watson sale in a big deal as IBM Watson revenue even if IBM Watson was a smaller component of that deal. Companies do this all the time it seems.
The article is legit, makes full sense...Amazon falls short in the SaaS offerings, Microsoft has a ton of offerings in the SaaS space. If we are talking about cloud business as a whole Microsoft is the leader...plain and simple. If you’re talking about IaaS and PaaS specifically Amazon is the leader.
I didn’t open that link but I’d guess it has been written either by Bob Evans or Amit Chawdhary. I’ve often found both of them to exaggerate things in favor of Microsoft. I believe most companies have these “fanboys” (no, not evangelists) in the guise of journalists. I ignore them.
If msft ever comes on top of amzn in dominating cloud, that means two things: A. amzn stock isn’t gonna grow as quick, or maybe drop as cloud revenue shrink B. devs have less places to go when hiring from aws tightens. This also means that we lose the benefit of competition on salary.
