Slavery of animals (in disguise of pets) should be abolished.

Humans were captured by deceit, force and then enslaved in exchange of some food and shelter. Some slaves were treated better than others. They were captured if fleed. That was disgusting. Animals go thru same cycke. They are kept like that in the name of pets. Ask any animal (if they can exchange conversation) whether they rather be free or pet. I am sure answer will be same as humans. I think animals as pets is animal slavery. Need to be abolished.

I'm sure you're trolling, but I'd say what's going on in factory farms is orders of magnitude worse and is probably where we should start. Check out the movie Dominion.

Although yes there are people who abuse their pets, equating it to slavery is a false equivalency, go PETA post somewhere else, I'll continue to murder helpless animals (not in a factory farm setting) and feast off their bloody carcasses.

Many animals have coevolved with humans so they are dependent on us in some form or another. Start with freeing animals from zoos though

My cat absolutely would not prefer to be “free.” She gets unlimited food and water and can roam anywhere in the house. I’ve left the door open before and she won’t step foot out into the yard.

Maybe because all she’s known is captivity 🤔

She was a rescue and found as a stray, but nice try.

It is slavery - - forced castration 🤬 - no access to their own family, culture - living in unnatural environment - no ability to have the food of their preference - genetically bred for appearance and other physical characteristics that result in actual lifelong health issues 🐩 - forced to live with specific humans with no choice 🔒 - forced obedience training - trained to tolerate abuse (say by children) without a whimper 😶 - pet keepers are called pet "owners" 🤯 You might think you have a great relationship with your pet and it loves you and wants to serve you. So did the slave owners.

There. Exactly. You said so clearly.

My dog is incompetent as an animal and is an abomination of nature. Her “slavery” in is her breeding. What do?

When I was in undergrad, some eco-idiots broke into a lab and "freed" some animals that were being used for medical research. They all died. I'm left-leaning and don't own a pet myself, but releasing domestic animals into the wild will not end well for most of them.

Well, breed them to be dependent and then say they won't survive in the wild. 😆

Aunt Millie's dachshund isn't gonna do real well in a wolf pack.

Similar debate happened several decades ago, except that it was slavery based on race and not species. Just changing race by species doesn’t change the fundamental idea. Some of us still have the same medieval mindset as you can see from the poll.
