I’m in touch with the hiring manager and the recruiter for the team I wish to join in Microsoft. However, they’re painfully slow. I got three invitations from other teams in Microsoft to interview but I’m still passionate about joining that team. Why does the recruiter take 3 days to reply to my email with a blanket “I’ll get back to you when I have more information”. Why does the manager keeps stalling and redirecting me to the recruiter if he identified that the next step is a screen? Are they trying to hire but haven’t secured the headcount yet? What’s the deal? Can I just shoot an email to the manager and recruiter giving them an ultimatum? How to recover from this stalemate I’m in since 4 weeks ago with that team? Hell, most other companies gave me offers now, and Microsoft can’t yet schedule a screen. I think my best course of action is to bite the bullet and send them a “not interested because you’re too slow” email. Advice!
Recruiters are bad everywhere. Just because it's Microsoft doesn't mean magic recruiters.
Outta the team name
After my Google phone screen, I wasnt told about next steps. I assumed I didn't get through. But it turns out the recruiter left company. Then after a month Google set up on site. Recruiters are not perfect. Inform them about your other offers that should help speed things a bit
Tell the recruiter to get you in touch with the HM directly. And also mention certain timelines (like ultimatum). That should help.
OP, what's the update on this?
Why join Microsoft from FB?
FB is a ridiculous rat race. Certain teams in Microsoft work in interesting research fields.
