It’s TicToc not TikTok. Learn to read

India is fixing its rivers. It takes time, but it’s been happening. On a side note, since we’re on the topic of waste generation, I believe US has India beat. Moreover, US ships out its waste to Malaysia apparently but that doesn’t really help the planet does it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/world/asia/la-fg-malaysia-plastic-2018-story.html%3f_amp=true

We only have 18 months before the planet dies so we need to do something right now about India

Datometry LangEr Sep 16, 2019

^ Look at this guy here. So cute! You wanna ‘do something’ about India? lol.

Nutanix 1adja134 Sep 16, 2019

If you want to bring in political divide into our planetary ecological crisis, then nothing more is deplorable IMO. You want to fight for the planet, then think global, not local. Help out globally, don’t hate on another country. Figure out a solution. While you try to one up each other on who is right, the planet will initiate an extinction event, and guess what all humans are affected regardless of race and religion

I’m thinking globally instead of locally (SF). We need to ban the Ganges and Yangtze instead of plastic straws.

Nutanix 1adja134 Sep 16, 2019

What do you mean ban Ganges? How do you ban a river? Your solution is meaningless. Go back to the drawing board

Amazon Freakstyle Sep 16, 2019

No one is fucking the planet more than United States and China. Look at the extent of natural resources used, emissions and the extravaganza.

Twitter jkkugdyh OP Sep 16, 2019

Yes - we need to ban the Yangtze River as well

Uber rdda Sep 16, 2019

"and China" China's per capita pollution is an order of magnitude less than the USA, and that's before taking out the pollution caused by China producing stuff the Americans want. Just because the US outsourced the production doesn't absolve them of the responsibility for having directly caused the pollution.

You know we can see your email right?

Twitter jkkugdyh OP Sep 16, 2019

25M plastic straws

Datometry LangEr Sep 16, 2019

You might want to lookup per capita waste generation statistics.

Uber rdda Sep 16, 2019

The op basically is shitting on a country of 1 billion people where each person causes less than 1/10 in CO2 emissions compared to the average American trying to make a modest living for themselves. Meanwhile the #MAGA army alone emits more CO2 than Sweden and it's no problem cause #MAGA https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/06/190620100005.htm But that doesn't matter amirite all you need to do to save the world is apparently "ban the rivers in Asia". Of course it makes sense that this diatribe comes from some idiot who makes passive aggressive remarks about SF banning straws: "zomg the only thing we do to harm the environment was plastic straws while theyre dumping shit in a river!!! Hurr durr"

Microsoft oackjfk Sep 16, 2019

Who gives a shit about individual pollution? What matters are the big industries producing the bulk of it. Last I read China produces 30% of the air pollution and the USA about 12%, with India third at 7%.

Uber rdda Sep 16, 2019

What do you think a corporation is? Some monolithic entity that floats about spewing crap into the environment with no reason? The big industries are driven by what the individual consumes, the last time I checked the US at least still claims to be a capitalist system as opposed to... Centrally planned, no? Do you honestly believe that a country of people all driving their multiple pickup trucks and SUVs per family everyday while consuming prodigious amounts of products has moral high ground here over two countries where the citizens consume far less while still producing stuff for the first country?

Should add an extra 2 or 3 seconds to the life of the planet.
