The stock market wouldn't be where it's at without Obama's bailout and qe. Trump's tariffs created this mess and the need for a bailout. Obama started his presidency with a recession that started before him. So not really similar at all. And a lot of farms are large corporations. Farm bankruptcies of smaller farmers are actually skyrocketing.
Trump fucked with tariffs, like everything else he had anything to do with, then to keep his base happy bails out the farmers. If Democrats tried anything like that gop reps would turn blue in the face pointing at the deficit.

Reminder that Obama's bailout was a loan that was repaid with interest, making it net $. Trump's farmer socialism will be paid for when... Mexico pays for the wall.
Our whole farming system is subsidized and “bailed out” in so many ways from insurance, to land use quotas, grants, subsidies, tax breaks, trade biases, etc. That can’t be attributed to any one president or party. Some is obviously necessary for national security. But there are so also many pitfalls. Wasted crops, screwing over other countries in the region (people can’t compete with our subsidized prices), mismanagement, deficit bloat, etc. What I don’t get is how republicans are so dead set against programs that benefit all Americans and add a net benefit yet still support massive support for corporations and special interests that bloat the deficit and diminish the tax base. If we are going to cut spending let’s actually be fiscally conservative and “free-market” and cut spending every where. Not hurt the everyday American, line the coffers of special interests and corporations and then stick the resulting deficit bill on Americans.
They only have issues when money is not going only to their bosses or base.
Is there a difference between socialism and bailout? Hate of a person makes you look so stupid at times.
