Software Devs: Which employer looks best on your resume ?

To phrase it scientifically: If you only have one employer on your resume (ex: 3 years straight out out of college), which employer will give you the highest callback rate when applying for new positions.
I'm thinking top candidates are Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon & Microsoft.
I would like to include Netflix also but they don't fit with the example given(They only hire seniors).

Probably Google or Facebook. They have, on average, better junior software engineers then the rest of the companies you listed. And every other company knows that.

Depends on the company. If I go to the other end of the world and say "google employee" I'll get a lot of "wow" reactions. If I say "jane st employee", it'll be a lot of "huh?"s
If in the bay area or somewhere techy, you should be fine though.

Having referrals or connections with recruiters probably matters more than the specific company you start at. I think you'll be able to get callbacks at most places from any of the companies on your list, especially if you know someone.

Though I recently interviewed with them and interview was by far the most amateur-ish / disorganised mess of a process I've encountered. Also no perks from what I can see. Gave me an impression that it was very low class / not top-tier company - might have just been that team.

Pro tip don’t judge a company by its hiring pipeline.

@SupYog I get wat ur saying, but Apple's hiring pipeline is actually the best pre-interview. They allow you to book your own flights / hotel / rental car etc via their system. Everything is very organized and communication was good.
The interview experience itself was bad because of the team being so disorganized / amateur-ish through the interview process. Also some of the ppl seemed a bit arrogant. Also seems like Apple doesn't offer any perks ... no free drinks, think no free coffee either.

If you’re interviewing with your final team maybe.

Also free snack if worth 1000$yr and free food 5000-10000 if you have 2-3 meals at work 5 days a week. If you want snacks get Instacart to your desk. Focus on the best job and ignore these perks.

Goog and FB better early career. Midcareer depends on motivation and goals. Amazon has a far better SDM role and Sr. SDEs can basically pick and choose team and role. Principals have a strong culture role too. If you are research minded, Google is the best period. But - a competent engineer can thrive at Amazon where they may never stand out at Goog and flounder in their career.

Amazon. If you can tough out the DevOps, internal dependency navigation, and stack ranking here, I will bet it will be more interesting than Google or Facebook. I hear not many make it past the 2 year mark, which may be all you need (if you used your time wisely).
