I recently got an offer for Software Engineer 2 at PayPal(Bay Area) and was surprised with the low TC.
Base - 121 K
RSU - 36K over 3 years
No sign on bonus

Currently in a similar domain company and experience in US 1.5 years and total is 4+ YOE.

    121k for SE2 is in the higher band. I have even seen SE3 get 114k base

      Not for latetal hires, they can usually negotiate upto 140-145k for SE3. but internally it's awful. Folks get 1% raise and management thinks that's huge!

    Try to get another offer and negotiate. I have seen people at the same experience level getting around 150k base here.

      Yeah for a NCG i think this would be a good deal but for experience I totally don’t see how this compensation makes sense.

    I would say it all depends on the team/org you’re joining? May I know the team/org so that we can guide you better. But overall it is what everyone gets.

    Joining bonus mainly depends upon team. Some managers don’t even spend budget on team lunch.
