Been working at Workday for about 2 years now (first "real" job out of college) and have been getting regularly contacted by Uber recruiters for the last few months. Curiosity finally got the best of me and I have an interview scheduled now after a fairly quick phone conversation. Tbh I'm not super interested in moving out since I love my team and the culture here, however it seems to be pretty well known on Blind and within the company that Workday doesn't pay their engineers as much as other companies in the bay. Was wondering if the pay raise would be worth leaving an otherwise comfortable work environment. I'm currently making $120k TC fwiw
120 TC is low, Uber can probably double that. Only you can decide if leaving comfortable work environment is worth it — why not leave on good terms, try Uber out, then come back if you don’t like it?
Thanks, and that's the situation I'm hoping for. I have a fairly good rapport with my manager and team, so on the chance I pass all the interviews and decide to leave, I'm hoping to leave that bridge open if I decide to come back.
Then you’ll be okay :)
