How long would it be until this high paying IT(Edit: SWE, DE, MLE etc) jobs to eventually decline due to saturation/recession/some other unfortunate event?

Salaries will only decline when a) the work becomes less productive, or b) the pool of people able to do it drastically increases.

All signs point to A not happening in our lifetimes. B is a possibility, but if anything it seems like the work has gotten harder faster and faster as complexity has grown.

    Tldr TC or gtfo.

Sorry, new to Blind. Why do people include TC?

    • The base value people get out of blind is knowing what others make (include years of experience). This helps people negotiate their offers, know their value, etc.

When you're asking the community to answer your question, the understanding is that you will include your TC and YoE so that the community can feel that you have contributed something before they go and contribute something to you.

Sure, you could argue that your post is valuable for the community so why should you have to do more, but I'm sure you can see how people will be more motivated to contribute if you do something directly helpful for them first.

I believe 20 years from now we'll look back and see these days as the golden years for SV driven tech. The low interest rates have pushed tremendous sums of money into unprofitable businesses (much if which flows into engineering) and with fairly little regulation/lax enforcement there's not much friction in trying out new ideas. I suspect we'll see less demand within the next 5 years due to coming recession. Keep your balance sheet clean, position yourself in profitable companies/groups

Not many tech coders out there tbh. But people who use tech? Everyone. Do the math.
