Solutions Architect

What kind of an interview should I expect for a Solutions architect at Amazon? The Leetcode style coding questions followed by design rounds and a bar raiser? LP in every round?

What is the format of the interview?

I don’t know

I doubt there will be any Leetcode. It's more about customer interaction, sales, and general cloud architecture. You'll be writing little, if any, code.

Wait really? I thought it was the opposite. Dang maybe I should apply

Yeah, there have been some good posts about the role and what it entails around here. And of course I can't find any of them right now. But basically it's a customer facing job focused more on big picture architecture, selling solutions to solve specific problems for a client, and general relationship management as far as I understand.

No coding during interview. Mostly LP and technical questions. There will be an one hour presentation

I don’t get the whole hype around LP and Amazon. Why do they care so much? I seriously don’t understand can you explain

They explicitly ask you to fake it. I’m new and no clue why it is. But in my interview I didn’t feel the questions to be LP specific. They would just ask about past experiences naturally and would judge how much LP did you have.

You will have 5 or 6 rounds of 1 on 1 interviews (the interviewer might have a shadow in training), followed by you giving a presentation from a slide deck they give you (feel free to personalize it). The questions will mostly be "tell me about a situation when..." format, and you will need to answer in STAR format. We are looking for breadth and depth of industry knowledge in the focus areas for your role as well as LP commitment. It will not always be obvious which LP the question is focused on, so take them all into consideration as you answer. Don't pander by calling out the LP specifically, but instead explain how your actions demonstrated the LP. Be humble but confident, and don't BS because you will be caught in it with follow up questions digging deeper. If you don't know, say so or explain how you'd find out. The LPs we use a lot as SAs are Customer Obsession, Earn Trust, Ownership, Bias for Action, Are Right a Lot, and Disagree & Commit.

For Data Architect, I had a LC easy question though
