As a single guy, it's quite upsetting reading how married people can take advantage of each other's insurance. Why are married people special snowflake? Why can't I designate a friend to get spousal insurance benefits? If one of you guys can create a startup to monetize this that will be great. So I sell my spousal insurance slot for $200/mth, someone else benefit by getting high quality insurance plans at discounted rates.
What you're asking for is illegal.
Tell ya what. You can pay the marriage penalty taxes and then let us know which situation you prefer.
You're missing the point. How to sell spousal insurance without getting married is my point. I have a free slot! I can't use it!
You don't have a free slot. You have a potential benefit you don't qualify for.
Your company has a vested interest in keeping your immediate family healthy. It has no interest in keeping your rando friend healthy.
Hmmm if that’s possible, then why sell individual insurance? Like insurance has a single plan. Right? The more friends you “married” to, the better deal.
Have you checked ACA or individual plans? They suck big time compared to a good group plan. I had to get one when I was in between jobs. If someone can do this there is definitely going to be a market.
That’s my point. Why not just have a group plan right? We all connect to someone, someone connects to another person. The more friends you got the better the deal. Wait, that sounds like universal healthcare under a single payer with single plan. Right.
“Why are married people special snowflake” - not sure why you think calling married folks “special snowflake” is an insult. But yeah, asking the blind folks to build a start-up so you can make money illegally off insurance = lame. especially just for $200 extra a month.
How is that illegal? Because the insurance company says only spouse can get benefit. Guess what that shit is made up, so maybe you should start questioning whether that should be the case....
It’s illegal because whoever you sell it to is not your spouse...🤷🏻♀️

Congratulations on being the first person in history to have this very stupid complaint
“Special Snowflake”? You’re kind of a douche.
You are asking someone to start a scam!

You can marry your friend if you want to designate spousal insurance. You also usually pay more for spousal insurance than self only.
Uh... That's a no go. I'm looking to sell my spousal insurance slot without getting married. There's too much legal liability in marriage.
Well spousal insurance is for spouses. You could always encourage your local rep to push for single payer insurance. I don't see how you can arbitrage your insurance policy otherwise.
