Is it as stressful as it is said to work at SpaceX?
Anybody on here who helped work on the Falcon Heavy launch? Would love to hear how your experience has been. Super fascinating work!

    Know some people there. It's half the pay and twice the work. And in crunch times it can be insane hours

      They all talk about how they don't plan on staying there for much longer. The sentiment is that they are being worked to death so that Elon goes down in the history books. A lot of them don't have the rose tinted glasses of Musk that the media does.

      Trust me if you didn't want to work there before falcon heavy, you still aren't going to want to work there now. Let the falcon heavy hype die down over the next weeks and decide if you're still interested then.

      Nah, I have never been interested in working there since I know it’s stressful. Just curious about how it was working on such a fascinating thing.

      Don't believe the hype. If you like 70+hr work weeks, no weekends, and low pay all while being told your behind, then it's the right fit for you.

    At my last job we hired a mech/aero guy from SpaceX. He just said it was long hours, and a lot of people wanted to leave. Then again my other friend there in launch control said it's good, though he is more senior. Don't know anyone in SW engineering

      Good for him! That does sounds like a great place for sure. Sorry if I am misunderstanding, but I am just curious, do you find that SpaceX is not working on something that will have impact on humanity?

      Oh it'll have an impact, just it'll be 40 years until we have mars colonies. Hyperloop will be making lines in Dubai, and freight lines across China, within the next 10. That's just my speculation

    What I heard is they are intentionally looking for people who are not motivated by money, so they offer lower than market;

      I guess that makes sense cause it’s work people are actually interested in rather than the money
