Asking for a friend My friend got offers at both Palo Alto Networks and Splunk for tech role. Compensation are pretty much the same. Which company is better in terms of outlook and a fun place to work at/ culture?
Splunk!
Data Analytics. What role are you? Surprised you never heard of Splunk unless you’re in a non technical role.
Panw is hurting in the market. Premium player but Cisco and checkpoint have upped their game.
PANW for sure. Hurting in the market? Lol um ya right. Cisco and Checkpoint are losing market share against PAN. Just check out the news on them. They are growing like crazy
Outside of Bay Area, Cisco is still dominant. PAN is a great product don’t get me wrong. Just stating the obvious.
Um, in security we are literally the highest revenue company... I've worked in both companies and PANW hands down dominates security. 40% revenue growth YoY for 7/8 of our last 8 years, including 2018, AFTER becoming the #1 revenue generator in the market. Also, the bay area is far from our top market, and has a lot of room for growth and improvement.
Define tech role? Eng? PM? PMM?
Splunk! Check out the stock price of Splunk over the last year. The sales and marketing is very strong. In terms of technology, lots of new stuff with cloud and micro services. Join now will enable you to learn and contribute significantly.
Aged like milk
Definitely splunk! Which team in panw? Culture in panw is not great!
Panw culture is awful - nanomanagement due to incapable management
What makes you say this? Happy to communicate improvement suggestions to upper management for you, even if anonymous 😊
