True there is a speed limit, but you can get to the speed limit faster with a sports car

High end sports cars aren't just about top speed - that's only one component of them. Sports cars are designed to accelerate quickly, hold high g's through corners, and deaccelerate fast. A lot of people get enjoyment over just taking turns like highway on ramps and off ramps at high speeds, or windy roads. People also get a kick out of the acceleration as well. You're also not limited to the streets. There are racetracks in every state that you can take your car to and enjoy. You can also mess around on the streets too, though it's not recommended (see 1320 video).
Let some one with a “sports car” take you on a decreasing radius on ramp at ~65-75mph and you’ll be sold!
0-60 times are important.
Track + acceleration
Handling, local race tracks, sheer enjoyment of rapid acceleration. I have two different sports cars and take them to the nearby racetracks (Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, Sonoma) at least 1-2 times a month.
I used to drive 99 Camry v4. Always thought going from point A to point B was enough but then I upgraded to V6 accord and realized what I was missing. Fast/sports cars are not just for show offa, its also about the pick up, speed and overall fun. It gives rush when you are driving at 70 on hwy1 overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You may meet your glorious death on that day because hwy1 is nit meant for that kind of speed but you will go down watching sunset over the ocean while flying at 70 mph.
The Camry was an in-line-4, not a V4.
They are also a work of art. A classic BMW in-line 6. A V12 Ferrari. The burble of a V8.
