Anyone know anything about interview questions for spotify data scientists? Have a technical phone interview coming up, want to be more prepared but theres a ton of material to cover
There is a range of positions at Spotify in data science. My advice depends on which position you’re interviewing for.
This is for the personalization team
Data scientist is a producty role not an engineering one. Basic hypothesis testing, presentation skills, ability to talk about user experience maybe.
Can you clarify your differentiation of "producty" vs "engineery"? Do they use machine learning and build statistical models? Or is it all pretty much SQL and excel? Im confused because the interview is with a PhD statistician so I'm assuming some level of technical ability is important but also was told by recruiter that the team does submit customer facing code.
And then hear from blind/glass door that its essentially a business analyst?
How did it go?
How was the interview?
Hey could you please tell us about your interview? I feel like I’m going in blind

Don't tell Spotify about Wayfair's 30GB PHP monolith. Spotify does microservices and has a much better engineering culture and quality than Wayfair. I would seriously Google best practices before interviewing at Spotify. I don't know much about the data science teams at Wayfair, but I know the engineering culture is trash and doesn't do anything considered best practices.
