Spotify recruiting slow?

Couple months after application, had a great first interview with the recruiter (was told I “passed”) and haven’t heard anything for two+ weeks.

Spotify people:
Is this what one should expect the process to be like? Measured in months instead of weeks? How does anything get done with positions unfilled for so long? Or did I get a quiet “gtfo”?

I wouldn’t know, I always get rejected at the application stage. I’m addicted to their uplifting rejection emails, so I try again when I need a boost. Someday I hope to have contact with a real person there.

Thank you for applying for the Staff Software Engineer, Backend position. There are lots of great jobs out there, and we’re honored you applied for this one.

We’re sorry to let you know that you were not selected in the next round for this role. We get a huge number of great applications for every role, so the smallest differences determine which candidates join our team in the end.

We hope you’ll apply again if you see another job here you like!

May you always have music in your life,

I honestly wonder how many great candidates we are losing due to our slow process

What’s the purpose behind the slowness?

If you didn't get an on-site, then you really didn't pass anything except a phone screen
