Recently got offer for Sr Software Engineer at their Pittsburgh office (HQ) 6y of exp and certifications and the top TC they want to give is 120,000 Base 5K Stock 5K bonus Am I crazy for declining and respectfully telling them they are compensating wrong their hardworking engineers?
Sorry to hear about your horrible six figure job offer :) Go back and tell them you were looking for pay that is more inline with market rates. And show your data. Bring in Glassdoor info from similar companies or competitors. I’ve used this to get several bumps. Also show WHY you are worth more. Do you have experience in their industry? Etc
😂 Get over yourself. That is a normal company salary. If you want FAANG salary, go there.
Makes sense :)
It’s Pittsburgh salary range! Different tax rate and cost of living than the Bay Area
I mean it's not a super big company. So it makes sense. If you want high TC your best shot is FANG or unicorn
