Anyone have experience with this position? They say it's about 40% coding and mostly focused on design and architecture. I told the recruiter I would look at Senior but I'm thinking I'd maybe like Staff. My main issue is i still love to produce work and don't want to end up like one of these people who are so proud that they "don't code anymore", or like someone said, "have not been on the coder level for a long time." Also, what's the interview like?
Staff at Linkedin is Goog high L4 - low L5.
Staff at LinkedIn equated more to L5 at Google. Very very rarely do candidates at L4 from google clear LinkedIn’s staff bar. Leadership and craftsmanship is assessed at our staff level. L4 falls more in line with the tail end/strong Sr. Swe
Staffs in my org do a lot of coding & code review. I doubt you will have to give up coding.
Interviewed for staff last year - nailed every single loop except one which was still a positive.. recruiter said needed unanimous decision in HC to give staff, ended up with senior:(

What's your level and TC at G?
Hard to comment on this without giving up anonymity while still illustrating the situation properly. I can say 4 and 240 but there is more to the story
