Had an interview with the hiring manager at Walmart Labs SF last week. It went pretty good. What’s the usual turn around time to hear back?
Follow up consistently with recruiter, show him you are interested. It is bit subjective but re-connect with recruiter within 3-4 days. Note that, usually Staff product hire happens internally, else for even external candidates pool, expect not much of competition. Good luck.
It is totally dependent on the team. There’s no standardized hiring practice.
Thanks for the feedback everyone, really appreciate it. Heard back from the recruiter today and she mentioned that they’re gonna pass as they need someone with technical depth. Disappointing, but it’s part of the process. I’m really looking to move to the west coast so any help is appreciated. I know it’s kind of awkward to ask for a referral from complete strangers but - I’m desperate. Also wanted to know if there’s any shot continuing the conversation with the recruiters to consider me for other roles...thoughts?
Yes, you can still apply for other roles and ask the recruiter you are in touch for checking internally for you.
What team? Don’t join product in a labs team unless it’s SCT. The real product teams sit in the business.
It was for the Supply Chain team working on Last mile delivery projects etc.
Yeah that product team is in engineering. Better you skipped it. Try for roles in CX.
Hello chuleta, what was the offer you received/accepted for staff pm role at Walmart ?
This depends on how many interviews they have lined up and how far out they are. I got an offer the same day, I have also been a part of the interview process and have seen it take up to a few (2-3) weeks.
