Considering starting over and going into the DL / ML field. Currently 1 YOE in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management and 2 YOE in Electrical Engineering Sales. TC 92k, Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, 25 years old, single with no kids. Simply dont feel that I am making the world a better place or in a position to start a business with a lot of growth potential. Anyone else ever feel like this? How can I get enough CS / AI knowledge to apply it to my real world knowledge and build a business people need?
Applied software is just as useful as core CS. Gaining a knowledge of how the world works is a prerequisite to make it better. This can be done in any field.
I have a decent understanding of how software can be installed, but how could I get a better understanding of how it can be deployed?

You won't make the world a better place if you switch to CS. You will make good money though.
