2% equity vested over 4 years $120k for first three months then $20k bonus and $225k salary after that. Run rate $980k Company has $3.4 mil raised and is worth $16 mil coming in as C suite 7 yoe current tc $230k base Is this normal conpensation for C suite at this stage startup?
Ask for a board seat. Ask for acquisition clause. At these numbers it's a.risk.worth taking. Though I'm surprised that you'd be offered a c role if you didn't know the founders. If you know them go for it
I know them
Why does salary start so low before ramping up?
This is typical given this stage.
2% for C level doesn't seem super exciting. What stage is the company in and what's your employee number?
I’m employee 14 or so. Company has been around for 1 year
Number 14 with 2% looks good to me. If you are a fan of what they are doing then join them! With 7 yoe a C level experience would help either way regardless of TC. If you are not happy you can always jump to a bigger name at a higher level later.
Ok, then this is not a founder level oppty.
Still good, but not great
What would you ask for?
Founder class stock, Vp level position, board member observer, and parachute clause (min 2 years of compensation)
Make sure you also look at the cap table

Seconded. If love to hear how you found this?
I transitioned with colleagues, one of them being a founding member of new startup.
