What are the elite startups for software engineering skill/comp? Please name company names. I’m a new grad who is fortunate enough to get into a startup, Series D 200m~ funding, 120k cash + 1k stock options. I am wondering if I can climb up the startup ladder and what goals should I be reaching for?

Don't start a job focusing on getting a different job. Focus on advancing within your new company and helping them do well.
1k options for a series D? You got ripped off
When a company is in Series D they are almost certainly no longer a startup, but they may retain some startup characteristics. Also when company starts a career ladder they have passed the startup stage. Regardless companies in these stage can be great to start a career and they will have opportunities to grow. You can focus on learning how these companies scale their workforce and tech on their path to become a large company later.
