Stay in Seattle/US or move to Australia?

I have an opportunity to move to a company based in Palo Alto but has offices in Sydney, Australia where I am from. Not taking to Seattle for many reasons, love the US, but love Australia and most of my family are there. Taxes are a lot higher in Australia. Any thoughts?

Simple. Do you want to go back to Australia? If yes, then move companies. If no, then don't. Stop overthinking

Would you prefer to live in a place where you are likely to be shot (US) or a place where the wildlife are out to kill you (Australia)?

What do you want your career path to look like? Are you trying to climb up the corporate ladder? If so, then move because the opportunities available in the US will be bigger than anything in Australia. Or is being close to your family more important to you? Figure out what you value most and make a decision based upon those criteria.

If you're Indian, Australia is a no brainer. Imagine your parents are trying to visit you in the US, and they reject their visitor visa.

Can parents visit and stay more than 6 months in Australia?

Max of a year

I am not Indian but Australian. In the states for 6 years now. My dad is too old to visit and his current wife too much arthritis. I guess it’s more my 2 brothers, my sister, my 2 nieces. I have a lot of friends there still. I just think it might be Seattle getting me down

Go work at Atlassian in Sydney for a few years...transfer back to US after 2 or 3 years. Use those few years in Sydney to stay close to family and make up your mind.
