How safe is it to watch Netflix/Amazon Prime video during breaks at work?
Extremely safe. But beware judgy coworkers
Closed rooms for everyone!! :P
Pretty safe. That's what I have to resort to after a bean counter took away my cable connection.
Just get on LTE opie! Also TC?
i imagine this is something that varies from one company to the next... the devices we’re issued are for work and personal use within reason. within reason being, netflix, hulu, checking personal email, using garageband to make your podcast, etc. they’re definitely being managed so nothing crazy. all that said, it shows that you’re at oracle so there must be a policy about this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I knew a guy who would watch movies while he worked on code. He had VLC player open on his second monitor, in an open office layout so everyone could see. He was very senior engineer, clearly didn’t GAF what people think
As long as people know you get shit done, it definitely shouldn’t be a problem
Colleague does it all the time while doing work but she’s a top performer and info resource. Nobody questions her about it (except “What’s that show?!”).
Tell me more about these “breaks at work”...
Federally mandated two paid 15 minute breaks and 1 hour unpaid lunch per 8 hour shift. #knowyourrights
Remind me to never work at Oracle
Use your phone? Connect to guest WiFi?
People think guest wifi is augmented different ly. But we still have full insight into what's going over the wire. It's no different if your employee or on secured wifi.
Full insights? You are decoding TLS on the fly for all connections by somehow stealing private certs?
