Lost my motivation after working for a company for a year which ended to just copy pasting pattern. Got a new job but I am so burned out from previous one now I'm just mostly couch potato after work. At my current job I'm struggling to be "proactive". What does proactive even mean? Also how do you even deal with undocumented tasks? Lots of questions. TC: 21k with tax.
Take time off. If you can do this, do it. You can prep after a good break. You'll actually be stronger. I speak from experience.
I just started a new job..
Ask yourself this. What led you into this path that you are on, what sparked that original interest in development? You need to do the same things that made you fall in love with development. Cut all of the bullshit and focus on these things, and you will be happy once more.
When i look stumble upon the things that gives me spark i'd feel excited but overwhelmed at the same time..
1000 mile journey starts with single step
Being proactive is about taking responsibility. If you see a mistake, as a proactive contributor, you acknowledge it instantly, correct and learn from it. For undocumented tasks, you start documenting your approach and share it with others, so they can input and learn from it. This serves as good source of knowledge transfer within the team. It will be good to have in a repository so others can share their documentation as well. Sometimes, it takes one person to start documenting and then others get motivated. As a someone early in your career is good because you can ask questions, and this shows enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
Thank you I'm already starting to do that but somehow I"m not very effective. They wouldn't give me tasks, just small fixes here and there on different projects.
