Studio vs. 1-bedroom for young single male
Assuming both are in your budget, which do you go for?
If you cook please get a 1 bedroom and keep out the food smell from your clothes. I find it disturbing whenever I have to talk to a coworker those clothes smell like their food
1br appreciates better than a studio. I think it makes more sense if the difference between the mortgages is less than $500 / month
If you cook. Expect to have ladies or guests over, get the 1 bedroom. People don’t need to be sitting on your bed because there’s no room for real furniture. Life is just better this way.

you can go one step forward and live in an rv.
Studio vs 1 bedroom isn’t the only dimension. Location, how nice the apartment is, amenities etc etc.

The bigger the better. In Bay Area you get all the money back when you sell the house - because of appreciation - so you might as well live comfortably. I have never heard anyone selling the house for a lower price than they bought it for in Bay Area.
More space you have more junk you will aquire. Stay lean.
In Silicon Valley, you are probably saving an extra $12k a year by going Studio vs 1BR. Even with a modest 5% yield, adjusted for inflation (say 2.5%), that is $34k by the time you retire. That is your retirement car. Make it 7% and it becomes $64k... save man, save.
Usually the difference is about $500/mo. The problem is the small studio space can be debilitating and a 1-bedroom could help one thrive and earn more TC.
Guess it depends on the person, but my building the difference is about $1-1.2k between studio and 1br. Unless you have alot of stuff, studio is plenty, otherwise you're just gonna fill it with crap you probably dont need as well.
