Successfully negotiated higher severance?

Found out this AM my Product Manager position is being elimated due to a re-org. Timing was to be immediate, but other leaders went to bat and will likely have a ramp down period. Waiting on HR for formal docs, so not sure what TC will be for termination. Standard at company is 4 weeks I understand. But anyone successfully negotiated a higher severance? Points to consider in negotiating that?

I wish! My first foray into private equity fund held company. What is this stock thing you speak of?

At my last company I told them "I will be consulting with legal counsel" and they gave me 4 extra weeks in exchange for signing a release of legal claims

Nice approach! Might see if that works too.

They don't have to give you anything, so be careful!

In the past I've been given more severance if I signed an agreement not to sue. I hope I never have to worry about severance from where I work now. Chintziest company I've ever worked at!

The whole idea of severance is to get you sign that paper
